Sometimes the greatest motivation comes from the person closest to us. For one wife, watching her husband commit to his health and experience real transformation was the spark she needed to take her own first step. What started as his personal journey soon became a shared pursuit of wellness—built on encouragement, accountability, and the belief that they could be stronger together. When Chérie first joined our program, she wasn’t stepping in alone—she was following in the footsteps of her biggest supporter, her husband. After seeing the way our program helped him gain confidence, energy, and a new sense of purpose, Chérie realized she wanted those same changes for herself. What began as his health journey quickly turned into theirs, and her story shows just how powerful it can be when motivation starts at home.

 

We asked Chérie a series of questions about her journey on her health and wellness with us.

Q: Please tell us a bit about what motivated you to start your health and wellness journey.

“Really, it was my husband joining and encouraging me to join him. I was feeling motivated to try to become a better me. A healthier me. I had both knees replaced and felt I could go on walks (makes my dogs happy 😊).”

Q: How has your journey impacted other aspects of your life?

“I am very aware of everything that enters my mouth. I can talk myself out of eating something that would be too many calories.”

Q: What were some of the initial challenges you faced, and how did you overcome them?

“It has been difficult for me to get all my required ounces of protein in, so I started adding collagen peptides in my breakfast drink to make up for it.”

Q: Please share any significant milestones or achievements that you’re particularly proud of.

“I bought two hand weights and leave them in my kitchen, so I’m always reminded to use them. It felt good to reach the 25 lbs. loss milestone.” 

Q: How have the coaches helped you on your journey?

“They are very supportive, excited about my success, and have great ideas to encourage me.”

Q: Do you have any favorite activities, classes, or events at Peak Wellness?

“It’s nice once in a while to go on a walk for my appointment. Otherwise, I haven’t joined any classes.”

Q: What are your future goals for your health and wellness?

“To keep up this lifestyle and way of eating. I know I can have treats as long as it’s small portions and I record it.”

Q: What advice would you give to someone just starting out on their own health and wellness journey?

“Don’t be too hard on yourself. It may go slow, but all good things take time.”

Q: What kind of advice would you give someone who initially has a barrier to joining Peak Wellness due to financial reasons?

“Initially, it may feel like a punch, but know your money is going to help your health and not to junk food.”
