At the heart of every health and wellness journey lies a story worth sharing—one of perseverance, transformation, and inspiration. In this week’s spotlight, we’re thrilled to introduce you to Christine, a dedicated member of our health and wellness program whose commitment to personal growth has not only elevated their own well-being but also inspired those around them. From small daily habits to major lifestyle changes, Christine embodies what it means to live with purpose, balance, and resilience. Join us as we dive into their journey and celebrate the progress they’ve made so far.

Each individual who walks through our doors brings with them a unique story and personal motivation for beginning their health and wellness journey. For some, it’s about reclaiming their physical strength after an illness or injury; for others, it’s the desire to improve mental clarity, manage stress, or adopt a more balanced lifestyle. Some are driven by the goal of setting a positive example for their families, while others are seeking a supportive community to help them stay accountable. Whatever the reason, we recognize that no two journeys are the same, and we’re honored to be part of each member’s path toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.

The first question we asked Christine is how has her journey with Peak Wellness impacted other aspects of her life. Her response,

“I have struggled with food and weight my whole life. This journey has changed my relationship with food. I no longer see food as a boredom buster or a way to socialize or comfort in times of stress. My coach at Peak Wellness has me focused on positive things that are non-scale victories. I can recognize my food triggers and actively address them with alternative choices, like stepping away from the kitchen, table, or candy bowl. Ask the questions… Am I really hungry or am I stressed? What would be a better choice? Sometimes I am hungry but choose something other than high carb food. Is this food something I am going to enjoy and be proud of even after I eat it? Will I still enjoy it on the scale tomorrow?”

We then asked her what were some of the initial challenges she faced, and how she overcame them.

“Let’s face it, I am looking way past the top of the age hill. I thought I knew what healthy foods were and what I should be eating and what I shouldn’t. I thought I had resigned the next 6 months of my life to salads and grilled chicken. It isn’t that way at all. My Peak Wellness coach helped me identify that my food choices weren’t limited but rather portioned differently. It took time and effort but it is much easier to choose foods that will fill me up and last longer then eating high carb foods in very small portions. Now when someone suggests pizza or hamburgers for dinner, I don’t even think about adding green beans or broccoli. It doesn’t even occur to me that is a healthy choice. It actually tastes better and I don’t feel tired or weighed down after a meal.”

Challenges will always be a part of anything that we do whether we choose to acknowledge them or not. Christine was able to tackle on her challenges, along with the support of her health coach, and was able to overcome them. Way to go Christine!

Achievements and milestones are something we look forward to celebrating with our members! We asked Christine to share what some of her proudest achievements or milestones are.

“Exercise has always been hard for me. I was overweight and it hurt and I don’t like to sweat or any number of other excuses. I was losing weight on the program and starting to get some lets say “floppy flesh” in the arms, legs and belly. I was like “I don’t have time to exercise. I am a busy professional woman and live out of town, how would I ever get to the gym” and “yeah…. Just NO THANKS”. But I started to keep weights in the bathroom and in my office, every time I got up to step away from my desk I would do 10 bicep curls and 10 squats and 10 triceps extensions, then added some variety every other time I got up. I started to feel better, stronger and had more energy. I liked it…. so I kept going, then added 10 minutes of simple yoga in the morning. Then changed to 10 minutes of Wall Pilates. I am now up to 40 reps a day with weights and 25 minutes of Pilates every day. Not bad for someone who thought I would never have time to work out.”

PRE-CISE-LY Christine! Exercise doesn’t mean going out and purchasing a gym membership and expect yourself to workout for long periods of time. Any type of intentional movement from walking, stretching, yoga, or Pilates, that’s plenty enough to keep your body active. Truly an amazing accomplishment!

Throughout Christine’s journey at Peak Wellness, she has only worked with one of our health coaches. We asked her how her coach helped her on her journey so far.

“I love having a coach at Peak Wellness. Sometimes we just sit and laugh or go for a walk or just talk about wins and goals for the week. It is a really nice break from the stress of the week and an alternative to eating my stress. I love the monthly challenges from Peak Wellness and learning new skills and exercises. I love the Facebook page where the coaches share tips and tricks. I can get the education I need on my time and when I want it. All of the coaches are helpful and friendly. It feels like walking into a friends house.”

How adorable!🤗

As Christine continues on her journey to achieve her health and wellness goals, we were curious to know what her future goals are.

“My future goals include continuing to lose some weight but most of all, just keeping the momentum going. I am very happy with how far I have come and don’t focus on that I haven’t met the goal I set out to achieve with my weight loss. (Yet). I am healthier, I feel better and I have a whole new set of wonderful people cheering me on and supporting me in a positive way with the coaching I need that week or month.”

Lastly, we asked Christine to provide some advices for those who are just starting on their health and wellness journey, and for those who are apprehensive about starting their journey due to financial barriers. Here’s what she had to say.

“It is much harder to achieve a single goal then it is to achieve multiple aligned goals. If your only goal is to lose a certain amount of weight and that is all you focus on, it will feel incredibly hard and almost impossible to do. If you focus on living a little healthier every day and add something new to your routine when you are ready for it you will achieve a your goal every day. The ultimate goal doesn’t seem so far away or impossible to achieve if you focus on being a winner every single day. Even if you think you “mess up” or get off track, you can still find things you did right that day and tell yourself that was enough for today and tomorrow will be a better day.

If you think it is too much money to prioritize yourself, track what you spend on unhealthy foods at the grocery store every month, add up your doctor visits that are related to chronic conditions related to weight. The GLP1 craze for the “simple solution” to America’s weight problem, people aren’t thinking twice about spending $1,400 or $500 a month on the magic shot that will solve all your problems. Peak Wellness program will help you develop tools to keep the weight off and live a healthier lifestyle. Even if you think all those expenses are not going to go away, “I still have a family to feed that isn’t going to lower my grocery bill…”. The money you spend on this program will change your life. You will feel better, you will discover how to prioritize your health and the health of your family. There are so many benefits from having a personal health coach and a program that is proven to work. You can’t find that in a gym or on the internet or with hoping things will change without a strategy to be successful.”

Christine’s journey is a powerful reminder that progress isn’t always linear, but with consistency, courage, and community, real change is possible. We’re incredibly proud to have them as part of our wellness family, and we hope their story inspires others to take that first step—no matter where they are in their journey. Stay tuned for more member highlights as we continue to celebrate the strength, resilience, and dedication of our amazing community.
