In this post, we’re taking a close look at Peak Wellness and comparing it to three other popular options: WW (formerly Weight Watchers), Noom, and Hims/Hers. Before we dive in, let us tell you who we are and what our mission is first. Peak Wellness (formerly known as Profile Plan) was created by doctors, physicians, and nutritionists at Sanford Health. We create personalized plans based on what your health and wellness needs are. We are not a “one size fits all.” From nutrition plans, exercise plans, 3D body scans, and health and wellness educations to name a few, we can help you achieve the goals that you have set for yourself.

Now that you know a little bit about what Peak Wellness is, let’s dive into how we compare to other weight loss programs out there.


How Does It Work?

Peak Wellness

Peak Wellness offers FREE health consultation appointments for health coaches to fully understand your health and wellness needs and create a personalized plan specifically tailored for your health and wellness goals. Peak Wellness has 5 main protocols: Reboot, Balance, Nourish, Perform, and MOM Protocol. Based on your health and lifestyle questionnaire, health coaches will be able to determine which protocol is the best fit for your desired health and wellness goals. Our nutrition plans consists of utilizing a great balance of grocery foods and meal replacements (i.e. Protein Shakes, Protein Bars, and other Protein Based Meals) that are fortified with 15-20% of Daily Vitamins and Minerals. Our Nourish Protocol offers a traditional nutrition plan where it focuses solely on grocery foods. Not just nutrition plans; Peak Wellness also creates personalized exercise plans to pair with your nutrition plan. Peak Wellness has a great deal of flexibility on finding what is the best plan to helping you achieve your goals.

WW (Formerly Weight Watchers)

WW operates by having you start with answering a series of questions pertaining about you and your lifestyle (eating and activity habits). After answering the questions, you then receive your points allowance per day called “PersonalPoints” and encourages you to not exceed your daily points. Foods and drinks are given points value based on their nutrition value. The PersonalPoints program motivates you to eat healthier foods that have more fiber, protein, unsaturated fats; and less of foods that are higher in saturated fats and added sugars.

Noom

Noom is an app-based program that focuses on behavioral changes by tapping into psychology. You begin with answering questions on what your health goals are, your current lifestyle, and eating habits to which Noom then creates a personalized daily calorie count, and also tackles on how you can improve your eating habits, activity levels, and help manage stress. Noom uses a color-coded food system that categorizes foods based on what their nutritional value is to guide users towards healthy eating. This encourages users to make conscious choices by classifying foods as “Green” (nutrient-dense), “Yellow” (moderate), and “Red” (higher calories) to help better understand nutritional value of meals and to make better choices.

Hims/Hers

Hims/Hers is a telemedicine platform that provides personalized treatment plans which includes compounded GLP-1 injections, medications, nutrition plans, and exercise plans. A licensed healthcare provider reviews your medical history, lifestyle, and weight loss goals to determine if prescribing medication is appropriate. Hims/Hers is a multispecialty telehealth platform offering other services such as mental health, sexual health, and dermatology services.


Is Health Coaching Included?

Peak Wellness

Yes! Peak Wellness offers 1-on-1 health coaching. Providing guidance and support on a weekly basis whether that’s in-person or virtual (Zoom, Teams, Phone Call). You can meet with the same coach regularly, or you can try to meet with different coaches. You’re in control! Best part? Our health coaches are REAL people! No bots or pre-recorded videos. REAL coaches making REAL connections.

WW

In-person coaching may not always be available based on your location. WW offers Workshops that are coach-led meetings along with other WW members to provide accountability that are mostly virtual. Workshops are not mandatory. You can choose your commitment level of how often you would like to meet and how engaged you want to be. If you desire 1-on-1 coaching, you’ll have to purchase an upgraded plan.

Noom

Yes! Noom offers instant access to AI and human-led coaching via chat to all users. Noom does not offer in-person health coaching.

Hims/Hers

Yes, via telehealth. No in-person health coaching. Hims/Hers does allow patients to get in contact with a health care provider 24/7/365.


What Is The Cost?

Peak Wellness

$12.75 estimated daily cost. Cost varies based on your personalized plan.

WW

$20 starter fee + $45 monthly for plan that includes Workshops.

Noom

12 different auto-renewing plan options ranging from $70 / month – $209 / year.

Hims/Hers

Oral medications starts at $69/mo. and GLP-1 injections range from $165-$199/mo.


Is There A Variety Of Food Options To Select From?

Peak Wellness

Yes! Peak Wellness creates personalized plans based on your health and lifestyle. Peak Wellness offers a variety of ready-made-meals, low-carb swaps, meal replacements, protein shakes and protein bars with lots of different flavors to choose from. All can be shopped in-store or shipped to your doorstep.

WW

Weight Watchers previously offered prepared meals, but with their recent change, it seems that they no longer offer their own meals.

Noom

No. There is no specific meal plan provided and no food delivery options.

Hims/Hers

Very limited on the variety of flavors for protein shakes and bars as they only have 2-3 flavors for each.


What Tools Are Included For Tracking?

Peak Wellness

As part of your Peak Wellness membership, you receive a Smart Body Scale that pairs to your app, a 3D Body Composition Scan, access to educational modules that focus on nutrition, activity, and lifestyle, as well as food, water, activity, and sleep tracker via My Healthy Journey App.

WW

WW has a points tracker that allows you to follow their points-based tracking, as well as a barcode scanner for grocery shopping.

Noom

Noom offers calorie and weight tracking tools but primarily emphasizes on educational mini-lessons and motivational messages.

Hims/Hers

Hims/Hers does have an app but mainly to keep track of medications and to chat with a provider at any time. No calorie tracker or weight loss tracker.
